3tbsp vegetable or coconut oil | |
1tsp Urad dal (Black gram skinned), washed and soak in 2 Tbsp water for 10 minutes and drain | |
1tsp Chana dal (Bengal gram split), washed and soak in 2 Tbsp water for 10 minutes and drain | |
1tsp mustard seeds | |
3 dry red chillies 2-3 dry red chillies | |
12 curry leaves 10-12 curry leaves | |
250gms green beans, finely chopped | |
1tsp sambhar powder (optional) | |
4tbsp desiccated coconut or fresh grated coconut | |
Salt to taste |
Directions
1.
Heat the oil in a pan and when the oil is hot, add the mustard seeds, rinsed urad dal, chana dal and dried red chilies. Let the mustard seeds splutter.

Then add the curry leaves and sauté for 30 seconds. Now add the chopped beans, salt.
Mark as complete

Add sambhar powder. Mix well.

Cover and cook for 4 minutes and then remove the lid and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until the moisture is absorbed.

Now add the grated coconut and mix well. Cook for two minutes over low heat and switch off the heat.
